Boston in 36 hours
Harvard and MIT back to back, on the weekend of the regatta.
An illustrative example. 2 days, 2 schools, Campus Day × 2 plan.
The challenge
A family flying in from Texas picked a mid-October Friday — the weekend of the Head of the Charles Regatta, when Cambridge hotels fill up and rates climb.
The plan
- Flagged the regatta in the day planner and moved the hotel stay to Thursday night, before rates peak.
- Booked MIT's morning information session and Harvard's afternoon tour — one Red Line stop apart.
- Added a riverside lunch between campuses so the student could watch a few races.
The result
Both official sessions attended, one hotel night instead of two, and no driving in regatta traffic.
