The challenge
A student wanted to compare Duke and UNC in a single February day, the month the two schools play each other in men's basketball.
The plan
- Checked both athletics schedules and avoided the rivalry date for the visit, when hotels in both towns spike.
- Morning session at Duke, lunch on Franklin Street, afternoon tour at UNC — about 20 minutes apart.
- Picked a hotel between the two campuses to keep both drives short.
The result
Two official visits in one day and an easy side-by-side comparison while both campuses were fresh.
